“You will keep on recovering your brain functioning for years to comeâ€, said Dr. Coutts.
“Great newsâ€, I thought, “but how will I know when I’ve finally recovered, so I can mark and celebrate the end of my recovery?â€
Sometimes I can be so OCD {link?}. Picky, picky, picky like Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory. Needing to be so anally precise about dates, names, medical terms, and other stuff. My partial OCD was one reason why it has taken me over two years to write this missive.
Of course, the other is the screamingly awful pain I periodically experience. The black depressions I suffer. Oh, and my Facebook addiction. And, my writers block. But, I diverge.
I am also obsessed with knowing: knowing what the cause of something is; knowing the latest scientific/medical knowlege about any aspect of my condition and its healing. Fortunately, my initial education after high school was focused on scientific research.
Funny thing that. I suspect that all of the research I’ve done over the last xxxxx months have contributed to the recovery of my brain functioning. That and the white wine <grin>
