Make Stress Work For You

Comments Off on Make Stress Work For You

What’s the relationship between pain and stress?

I’m guessing you’d say, "pretty clear!"

Up goes stress, up goes pain.

So, how do you reduce stress in a crazy, info-glutted, Crackberry world?

Take a walk.

Yeah, it can be that simple.

Oh, and on that walk… take a deep breath or six.

And, when you’ve wound down…

Ask yourself this question, "what do I most need to reduce my stress?"

Listen carefully, the voice may be still and small and quiet.

But, it will be there.

Sometimes as a single word.

Hear and obey.

Act on the inner wisdom.

Guaranteed…. your stress will go down!

Good Drugs

Comments Off on Good Drugs

Some time on the weekend I fubared my left leg.

The pain is astonishing. Sharp. Stabbing. Doesn’t matter where I move my leg, it hurts. It’s  a matter of finding the position where the pain is least.

The doc wasn’t sure what the problem is. Going for sonogram to check for the slim possibility of a blod clot. Sure as hell hope it’s not that. This article explains a bit about ligaments… the most likely culprit in my case.

The good news is the doc gave me Tylenol 3, good narcotics to ease the pain. And, it works. An hour ago I couldn’t sit for more than 5 minutes. Now, I can park my assets and write.

But, what’s intriguing to me is the fact that for this kind pain, as severe as it is, I can take drugs and it goes away. But, for the pain of FMS nothing makes it go away.

Interesting.

I’m told that that’s because FMS pain is really in some ways imaginary… Yeah, so imaginary that a good friend of mine killed herself rather than put up with it.

So, if it’s not relieved by minor pain killers, what does it take?

Well, I know of some who’ve taken heavy duty narcotics. The pain goes but you risk addiction.

Always side effects.

Lots to ponder.

Meanwhile, I’ll enjoy the freedom brought by good drugs.

Likely it’s a ligament.
